Flickering in and out like stars in the dark sky

You are the hope that a new life and love exist

Yet unlike the thousands of miles between us and the stars

there exists none between you and I

 

Like the ray from the sun that gives warmth and birth to a flowers bloom

You bring life and happiness to my heart and soul

You teach me balance, discipline and art

Encourage self-expression, love and spiritual growth

 

Is this not true love right before our eyes?

Let us not deny it any longer

Grateful and aware of the presence of love that surrounds us

I will think of you whenever darkness falls

I will remember you when scared and afraid

When I face my worst enemy, my ego, my self

Alone I will remember us and what we share

 

For in darkness it was us who rose

In the night we saw through the illusion of life

Transformed self-misery and pain into love

As we walk together now on our spiritual path

 

No longer afraid of what the future will bring

We live and accept and share gratitude for the moment

So simple and complicated this life can be

We musn’t forget how to let go

When the things around us become too much to bear

When we get caught up in the content of life
