ENOUGH

entry picture

To explain my aching heart it
Would take a million buckets to catch my falling tears
Tears coming from my Ancestors that fought so hard so we wouldn't have to
Never imagined that what I've learned and what I was taught I would see
Heart breaking
World shattering
Seeing my brothers fall to the ground with their hands up
Over what?
Because being black in America is a crime
for so long they've wanted us gone
Now they are taking us out one by one day by day
I refuse to see the next brotha' being taken out over a broke down car, selling cds or even reaching for his wallet
I'm scared for my father
My brothers
My uncles
My nephew
Being taught to love the brown skin you are in
You never would have thought you could lose your life because someone else hates it
Will the names of black people

that we're killed by cops be named in the future history books?
No, because to them it didn't happen and to them we are threat
I stand for #blacklivesmatter

And I value my people..

The murder of Africans in America (blacks) will forever be publicized as in the 1800's. No matter the medium. Educating black youth on how to respond to police by black police could be a platform for this. However, this will not extinguish the fear that white people have toward us. For those of us that are not entertaining them through sports or entertainment, we pose an even greater threat.

Keep posting your feelings , embracing your love ones. And educating yourself and them. That's what will be the difference.

I hear your heartache. But, know that there may come a time that no death will matter to the public beyond its value to the media.

Believe, Saniya, that the poor are all victims.
