Poems from the unexpected: poets to pop up during Stratford-upon-Avon festival

entry picture

Stratford-upon-Avon poetry festival has invited 10 poets to be poets-in-residence across the town; at Shakespeare family homes, in a nail bar, rail station, on a canal boat, a hotel and church cottage.  At the end of the festival, at an event called Unexpected Encounters, the poets will read or perform the work they have produced, and share their experiences.

The festival, from 18-25 September, also includes hip-hop, an open mic night, and a poetry choir among events and activities marking the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. More details
