He's the guy

He makes me feel safe.
His innocence you can't mistake.
His warmth is in his kindness
Eventhough he has less
Than most of us do
He gives more than me or you

His constancy is so sweet
More devoted than anyone you'll meet
He's not bad looking either
Yet he's still quite eager
To please, to prove his love
To ensure he's above
All the other potentials
Despite his low credentials.

You can't fault him for fate
It's not his fault his isn't great.
Yes he's poorer than most
And his family can't boast
Of big houses and cars
But they're not from Mars

They are intrinsically good
Just a few faults under the hood
Caused by their cultural surrounding
But they will be grounding
Remind me of where we come from
Of the positives these are just some

Their religion is secure
Compared to us they have more
Their morals are tight
Even if I try to fight
He will keep me on track
So my soul doesn't go black

Yes our family has history
Some of it is still a mystery
But he and I are now
You must understand how
We cannot dwell in the past
Otherwise it will not last

He works harder than any I've seen
More intelligent than I've ever been
A mind based on logic and sense
You can't deny his innocence
Don't tell me it's not right
Because I'm ready to fight

I believe fate brought us together
For now and forever
I've prayed and I've fought
For more hours than you have thought
And it makes sense to me
That he's the guy it will be.
