We have just completed a review of all the 307 entries in the Write Out Loud Poetry Directory. Most entries contain a link to other sites. All the links have been checked as current. In many cases, the information given in the directory entry has been updated. We list 91 magazines, 115 publishers and 61 competitions, of which 26 are currently open.

It says much for the energy of the poetry world that there are so many ways to find poetry to buy, and opportunities to get published. With so much activity, some outfits will stop publishing poetry or running competitions. But new offerings keep on appearing in their place. So, we’d be grateful to learn of entries that are out of date, or be pointed to new candidates for inclusion. To do that, please email directory@writeoutloud.net, including a link to a website, if one exists.

Doing this review has confirmed that our directory is one of the most comprehensive sources of information about those currently active in the poetry world in England. Our next step is to improve  coverage for Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Here, we’d be particularly grateful for your input.
