Mortality

Throughout my years of temporality

I had such trust in my vitality

Despite the clear irrationality

Of my great dreams of immortality

So as I wake up to reality

After the cardiac causality

Brought fears of imminent fatality

That then assaulted my mentality

And my delusions of centrality

With recognition’s cold brutality

And I accept the actuality

Of life’s ultimate finality.
