Don't be the fool.

I saw a man who had no teeth.

Sneaking round the library,

looked like thief.

One eye cast to the floor

The other, glass, saw no more.

And as his wig did slip

I saw no evidence

Of ear nor tip…. and

He turned a page with prosthetic hand

His thumb was attached with a plastic band

Then to my horror I saw a hole

Close, very close to where we would have a nose.

I wandered how the gentleman smelled…..

Then I caught his frisky odour

Paco Raban, an expensive musk?

More like corpse water cooling at dusk.

As his wooden leg clicked and clacked

And just as I thought he’s probably cracked.

He cackled at me with a heart felt glee

And with that one shining eye he fixed upon me

And as I tried to see why so fixed.

After all……….

A wise man can learn from a fool,

But a fool cannot learn from a wise man

Son he said with his toothless grin

I know you think I’m not worth a fuck

But I’ll tell you now from my bent body all a’crook

Your never alone when you have a book!

◄ Dancing in the mind.

The thief of life. ►
