Poetry posties wanted in West Midlands to mark Shakespeare anniversary

entry picture

Fancy being a poetry postie? Arts organisation Writing West Midlands is looking for volunteers to help celebrate Shakespeare on the 400th anniversary of his death next month. In an initiative with BBC local radio, every person who lives on a Shakespeare Road, Street, Drive, Crescent or Close across the region will receive a specially-designed postcard with a sonnet by Shakespeare on one side, and a new poem inspired by Shakespeare by a leading West Midlands poet on the other. Volunteers are needed to help deliver the postcards on either Friday 22 April or Saturday 23 April in their local area. You can sign up to be a Shakespeare Street postie by filling in the form here by 15 April.
