Two Sides to Every Story

I saw you the first time

My heart skipped a beat

First love from a distance

I knew we must meet

I brought you fine diamonds

Rubies and pearls

To light up your smile

Was all my heart yearned

You took all I gave you

To me you gave nought

Tenderness and love

From others you sought

And so broken hearted

I'm left on the shelf

By a cold hearted ice queen

Obsessed with herself

But why should I worry

About what's to be

When there's two sides

To every story?

You saw me the first time

Didn't know you were there

As I strolled in the park

With a mind free from care

Then you sent me presents

Promised to be true

Demands for my love

From I knew not who

My heart filled with dread

I cried stop this now please

For my love's another's

This madness must cease

Now haunted and fearful

I can't walk the street

Thanks to your attentions

I'm no longer free

But why should I worry

About what's to be

When there's two sides

To every story?

This is interesting Neil...
Was not expecting the second half...
Crazy how sometimes people see a situation so differently.
