Go to the ends of the Earth for poetry!

Well, go to the northern tip of the Wirral Peninsula anyway.

It’s the home of Bards of New Brighton, who will host their monthly open-mic session at the Magazine pub, Magazine Brown, New Brighton, CH45 1HP, on Monday 13 July, starting at 8pm.

Two important new developments will be unveiled on Monday night…

First, our push-button Bards Bell. This will be put to a variety of uses during the evening. June will have control of it, as she fears MC Steve Regan will use his finger too quickly if he’s given control.

Secondly, we will be launching The Bard - a new monthly souvenir journal, which will publish some of the poems performed each month.

The Bards is a big, friendly, fast-paced gathering, with usually 20 or more performers.

Everyone who wants to gets a chance to read /perform at least once, usually twice, sometimes three times during the course of the evening. We don’t operate a set list.

Admission is free. The pub serves real ale and has a lovely rose garden for fag breaks etc.

More information call Steve Regan on 07764 615069.
