It went;

The question, a quest
The panic, in my chest
Five people, enough
A crowd, too tough
The stress, building
Success? Fulfilling
Hours of performance
Talented audience
Open mic, number one
Start of something fun
Baby steps, tiny feet
Introduction, feel the heat
Applause as I stand
Ready to be hanged
My place, on the mic
Suddenly, childlike
A room, full of pro's
My lyrics, to dispose
A few jokes, ease
Curdling, mac and cheese
Quickening, heart
Time, to start
It's over, I know
Applause, time slow
Adrenaline, rush
Cheeks, flush
Pat, on the back
AND NOW I CAN RELAX AND GET IT ALL OUT OF MY SYSTEM OH MY GOD THAT WAS INSANE I CANT BELIEVE I DID THAT I'M GONNA TELL EVERYONE AND I WANNA DO IT AGAIN LETS GO
Any feedback?

Thanks both of you. Its lovely to finally get some comments coming in. A good place I would reccommend going to is an open mic poetry night, where people have open minds and accept all kinds of creativity. It builds a HUGE amount of confidence from the get go, especially if you bring a few friends along and make a night out of it. Keep writing Jill, I'm eager to see more from you.

I would love to be brave enough to perform and have my voice heard. Like you, I find writing cathartic as bottling up emotions is always a bad move. Maybe one day I will perform. Your poetry has the strength of sincerity and passion. I enjoyed reading your profile.
