Talking about poetry: Kulturá seeks sponsors for 2016 lectures at Kava cafe

Maria Isakova Bennett is the guest poet and John Duffy will deliver the poetry lecture at Kulturá’s last event of 2015 at Kava cafe in Todmorden on Thursday 17 December at 7.30pm.

Kulturá, hosted by Shirley-Anne Kennedy, a creative writing student at Bolton University and co-host of Write Out Loud Middleton, and poet Anthony Costello, is seeking sponsors for its 2016 series - either £50 to sponsor the monthly poetry lecture or £500 for the full series of lectures (12 in all). Anyone interested should contact Shirley-Anne at miladysa@hotmail.com. The 2015 series was sponsored by the Elmet Trust and James Fearon Gardening. 

Kulturá nights also include a poetry discussion as well as open mic. Its 2016 lineup is: 28 January,  Clare Shaw (poet), Keith Hutson (lecture);  25 February, Judy Kendall (poet), Michael Conley (lecture); 31 March, David Cooke (poet), Wendy Pratt (lecture); 28 April, Mario Petrucci (poet), Anne Caldwell (lecture); 26 May, John McAuliffe (poet), Evan Jones (lecture); 30 June, Peter Riley (poet),  Ian Parks (lecture); 28 July, Mandy Pannett (poet), Ed Reiss (lecture)); 25 August, Atar Hadari (poet),  James Morgan Nash (lecture); 29 September, Ian Duhig (poet), Kim Moore (lecture); 27 October, Roy Marshall (poet), Lucy Burnett (lecture); 24 November, Michael Crowley (poet), Gaia Holmes (lecture); 15 December, Sheila Wild (poet), Anthony Costello (lecture).
