Wanted: a new host and co-ordinator at Write Out Loud Sale

entry picture

Write Out Loud is looking for a host and co-ordinator - or shared post - to take over at Write Out Loud Sale and follow in the footsteps of illustrious predecessors John Darwin, Rod Tame, and Steve O’Connor. There is no Write Out Loud Sale in December, so we are hoping to get someone in place in time for a January start.

This is a monthly event that currently has superb guest poets as well as the popular open mic. The night attracts poets from Sale, Altrincham, Manchester and surrounding areas. It is based in the wonderful Waterside arts centre with its ever-changing backdrop of works of art: sculpture, painting, photos.

Write Out Loud runs open-mic poetry events in several towns, all with different characters but sharing a passion for providing opportunities for anyone who wants to share their poems in a lively, friendly, welcoming ambience.

Write Out Loud has recently become a community interest company, a social enterprise, and there are opportunities to influence our future more widely. We are looking to develop some exciting innovations in 2016, subject to funding, to create opportunities to extend the co-ordinator roles of Write Out Loud and non-Write Out Loud nights, which we expect will offer some part-time paid opportunities.

At the same time we are looking for people to fill two key posts in Write Out Loud: website manager, and Write Out Loud events co-ordinator. These are volunteer posts at this stage, but with a view to creating paid positions as soon as possible.

Please contact Julian@writeoutloud.net to express your interest in any of the above posts, or to ask for more information. We look forward to hearing from you.
