Sam Illingworth on science and poetry at Write Out Loud Sale

entry picture

The relationship between science and poetry is on the agenda at Write Out Loud Sale on Tuesday 15 September at the Waterside arts centre, when the special guest will be Sam Illingworth, a lecturer in science communication at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Part of his research involves investigating the relationship between science and poetry. The majority of his writing involves recent pieces of scientific research which he hopes to communicate to a wider audience in a more accessible manner. You can read some of his work here or contact him via Twitter @samillingworth where he is always happy to talk about science, poetry and bow ties.

The other guest poet is Darren Lea-Grime , and the guest compere is Jeff Dawson aka Jaffarama! Entry is £3/£2 to this open-mic night, which begins at 7.30pm,  and four-minute open mic slots are available. More details and Map
