THE ADRENALIN RUSH

The adrenalin rush has passed me by

while waiting for a bus

I never sought it out

tight - lipped on skis

a push - bike sensibly ridden

puts me more at ease.

Fairground rides too bracing

with the bird's eye views

and the playful gravity,

I like to feel my head in place

not airborne depravity.

Trains at speed are a good way to travel

but anything more exposed

and my mind begins to unravel.

Fear I can readily understand,

and I'm not a sociopath or a speed - freak

my idyll would be Siegfried.
