I'm Glad

entry picture

I'm glad I don't speak German

and salute the fuehrer's flag.

Free of Stalin's frozen gulags

Not in Trotsky's paradise.

That Bin Laden's worldwide caliphate,

with limbs and heads lopped off,

remains the madman's fantasy

is comfort beyond words.

The stumbling democracies

that rule the western states,

frustrate at their complacency

depress with decadence.

Should ayatollas wielding nukes

set my children's fate?

May Slavic, ethnic cleansers

be Hitler's ugly heirs?

Terror in its multiforms

is child of rant and hate.

The bumblers chosen by the mass

protect us from the pure.

Me, still a wild extremist,

convinced of my ideals,

just wishing, hoping, craving

to be held back by the bland.

So! People choose the stupid,

inept, and sometimes, crooks,

but those who choose themselves, are mad

and ideologues kill for the good.

The visionaries of God or grail,

tread on a path of blood.

Save us from the saviours,

revolution's call is false.

well, I would like to know how to speak German, as they are part of my kin, but I understand your point! I think its a great poem, we do try and cant help it when those elected lie and cheat us.I can assure the camel lovers of this, be glad Im not in charge. But then they are just a pawn and thus cant be thought of in that way. Its very hard to figure out truth from fiction over here, the news is so bad and I must say it is un the UK. God, well I really struggle with that subject, seems the history of organize faith is so full of blood, I have zero to do with it, but part of me still believes in a higher power and I have had interesting things happen after prayer, that i wont go into, but beautiful and wonderous visions. So its hard to just throw that away. I think that within my life time I will see a revolution here in America, Im not happy about it, as I know it means death of some. I love this poem it makes me think as Im compelled to do daily.I really love your work . thanks clarissa
