Such Indescribable Hurt

Such Indescribable Hurt

     All human dignity is gone,

Shattered into billions of sharp

Fragmented pieces for her to swallow,

     And the taste of blood and pain

Like metal that cannot be chewed!

     She dreams she has been

Forced through a meat grinder,

Bone and gristle pulped

And oozing contagion

She fears may season all,

     And she longs to touch

Her lover, to hold her

Children near and tell them

Of her love; but the hurt

Is too much for words!

     He feels it too,

His own fear rank

With loss of human spirit,

     For he longs to make love

Slowly, to imbue upon her

The sensitivity and passion

That cradles their heart

Between them,

     But he cries,

Cries the wounds

Of forty-six million people

From all corners of this world,

     Where the calling card

Of callous Gods destroys

The very essence of pro-creation,

The very essence of family;

Where the only hope

Of being kindred,

Be a call to four triple six four.

     Both share a hurt

That impales words as meaningless,

Both share a wish to die

In slumber – to end the suffering,

     And no amount of

Empathy can really

Chase this curse away,

Where you’re damned

For making love,

     And judged diseased

For the colour and origin

Of your skin,

     (the grinder fills

It’s bowels with the suffering

Of man, and empty thrones

Seat only ghosts of hate

Who watch the carnage with glee,

And as the lovers clutch

Each other and wrap their

Arms around their children;

Their tears are gone for

Their understanding be

More than pain itself -

     More than life that’s

Meant for love;

For their living death

They endure in realms of sadness;

They want no more upon The Earth)!
