The Grass Won't Grow Till Spring

The lines of our communication

Pulled and left to die

And all those spoken words unspoken

Fall and then collide

One to waste a shipwreck

Two to fly in style

My favourite girl came home last week

And I can’t raise a smile

If I could see where we went wrong

I would not change a thing

And the sky just won’t stop crying

And the grass won’t grow till spring

I started up a mountain

But there’s too far left to climb

On your own you’re lethal

But by yourself you’re mine

I won’t be the first to break down

I wont be the one to crack

One to throw a life away

Two to bring it back

Put your ear down to the ground

You can hear the prisoner sing

And the sky just keeps on crying

And the grass won’t grow till spring

If you set your sights on payroll

You can buy a well-heeled hat

Take holidays on speedboats

Get old and rich and fat

The days are drawing colder now

The way head unclear

I stayed in bed all yesterday

And dreamed about next year

The New Year has come around

With the promise that she brings

And the sky just won’t stop crying

And the sky just wont stop crying

And the sun just won’t start shining

And the grass won’t grow till spring.
