All That Remains Is Nothing

entry picture

I have witnessed the suffering of the nations,
seen things that I'd rather scratch my eyes out
then set a singular sight upon ever again,
you wouldn't imagine the thoughts my mind
processes late at night, when the lights are off
and I attempt to travel from this domain to the next
the world fades into darkness, forgotten by the light
and like new born infants we are lead into the void
the recesses of this planet, desolate and bare,
with only our mind processing images like a camera.

If the truth be told science destroyed the world,
as man hungrily attempted to grasp onto the truth,
whilst we saw many things, we didn't see the danger
that was hidden just below the surface, we failed
in our desperate attempt, our thirst for knowledge
we took from our mother earth all her life blood,
the forests we chopped down, the land destroyed
the sea we drained and created a vast desert
of nothingness, the animals became extinct,
the fish and birds too, to satisfy our greed,
our constant desire for more, and more and more,
never stopping to say...no, we've taken far to much,
creating disease after disease through chemicals,
the nuclear bomb was another of our creations.

Man not only kills man, but everything in his path,
we build weapons of mass destruction, explosion
after explosion, shot after shot, until their is nothing
left to explode, nothing else left for us to shoot,
we control the nations of the world through religion
politics, greed, desperation, lack of respect for
not only ourselves but for all those around us,
and as we transcend into the void of oblivion,
I ask, who else do we have but ourselves to blame.

we say we did it to obtain freedom, but the price was to high

and now, all that remains is nothing.
