Organisers of Bolton’s Live From Worktown festival are staging a live link with New York-based poet George Wallace, pictured, as part of a night of poetry, comedy and music aimed at raising funds for the festival, on Wednesday 18 March, at Bolton College, Deane Road Campus. Also on the bill with Wallace – writer in residence at the Walt Whitman Birthplace -  will be the Green Door Ensemble, a poetry-jazz trio comprising Dave Morgan, James Hartnell and Kevin Bates, who appeared at Write Out Loud’s The Beat Is Back event at the Marsden  jazz festival. There is no charge on the door, but donations will be welcome.  It starts at 6.30 for 7pm, and there will be open mic as well. Contact Scott Devon scottdevon@hotmail.co.uk to reserve a slot.
