...............As Suns Set

As Suns Set

We’re very young you and I,

We’re sat each of us upon thrones of bulshit

And juvenile, we’re

Propped up by excrement,

And sit there glad of its warmth

As we meander down life’s cavities of truth,

So hollow it is to die

Upon spectres of life,

Viewing the multitude of ghosts

Like, like, like we mean them well

When all in all,

     We’re each trying our best

To state reasons of prowess,

Why we are kings,

Why we are queens??

I would laugh if you knew truth!

I would laugh because,

Well, you’re dissuaded from

Humanity now lost,

You’re sitting upon this throne

And determined,

     You will stay there

Just to prove a point

That’s so wasteful of life.

     (I leave this seat,

I leave the warmth of excrement

For you to claim as your own

So you can sit higher,

      Higher and there,

You will pass judgement

And proclaim yourself God,

     Alas,

The flies will stop you seeing

Horizons I walk,

     Because your stubbornness -

Seeks approval of fools

That - live insincerity,

An insincerity growing in number;-

As the day draws to a close).

I fear we all have a big pile if shit underneath us, and after all a throne is a throne no matter from what it is made. Having said that I try not to let myself be fooled that my throne is golden. I know the recipe from which it was created and the stench that rises from it can be sickening at times. Great work - thanks for sharing.
