Crumbs

And pathways

Are funny old things
Twisting this way
And that
Back and round
And forwards
Inside themselves
And out
It seems to me
One way
Or another
You get
Where you're going
Whether
You like it
Or not
And maybe
Instead
Of following
Your feet
You should look
Some place
Else
For most of
The time
Your feet will
Be where
You put them
Dressed
In the rags
You chose
And whilst you're
Busy wondering
About pebbles
And stones
And the prints
You leave
Or make
The scenery changes
And once in
A while
It might not
Be such a bad
Idea
To move your head
Your eyes
Your mind
In a different
Direction
And anything
Has to be
Better
Than walking
Around
In
Circles

Always circles. Sadly and beautifully, always circles

Love this poem

Are funny old things
Twisting this way
And that
Back and round
And forwards
Inside themselves
And out

The way it wraps itself
around itself
