Us in Imagination

Her eyes twist and contort my dreams into

twisted hopes of impossible romance

i fall in love within the lines of Her thoughts

i fall in love with conceptual falsehoods

half truths and second guesses trip and fool me into further adoration

reconsidered proclamations and regretted lines

pick and pull

at my conscience until

i am but a bitter fragment of what used to be

and what is still to come

my soul yearns for something requited

more than what lies before me in the present

my soul screams for Her

screams

"come under with me darling,

see all the colours without disguise"

i am your constant admirer

Your dreamer

Your adorer

Your lover

i fight against all constraints

all lies

i fight for the imagined Us

i fight for You not the You I have

for i do not have You

but i dream of it

and maybe that's enough for Us
