To Find Joy In Eating a Saltine

To Find Joy In Eating A Saltine

When life’s a daze

The world seems shut out

Haunted by a dream

To have to choose a route

Open mind with an open soul

Hollow focus of what there is to know

Keep me close to my love

See deep down what I’m really made of

Cross the ocean, dig a hole and call it home

Live my life, become the person your heart’s always known

Learn a lesson, make a thousand mistakes

Then finally you’ll know which step you should take

The world takes me in

I’m held between its teeth

A slow time dissolve

She tastes my sweet

Salt upon her tongue

Amalgamation, mastication

Nowhere left to run

Your deed already done

From here I’m broken down

Use my mind, body and soul

Burn your chaotic engine

While I rock and roll

I’ll take time, to free my mind

To search and find

A place of mine

Welcome to all I love

And all who love me

A place to sit

And find joy in eating a saltine
