Roll up for Stanza's digital slam - and share a virtual stage with some of Africa's finest poets

Stanza, Scotland’s international poetry festival, is staging a digital poetry slam with a Commonwealth theme to mark the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.  It’s being run in partnership with the pan-African Badilisha Poetry X-Change, so this year’s competitors will share a virtual stage with some of the best poets currently performing in Africa, such as Djibouti’s Abdourahman Waberi, pictured. For the slam, what you’ll need to enter is a new or recent video or audio performance of one of your poems or spoken word pieces which you have uploaded onto YouTube, Vimeo, PodOmatic, SoundCloud or other online platform. Once you’ve picked out the poem/performance you want to submit, grab the URL and send it to: info@stanzapoetry.org. The deadline is Sunday 27 July. More details
