entry picture

A verse-drama by poet Owen Sheers about three young soldiers from Bristol who are deployed to Afghanistan has won the Wales Book of the Year award, and a total of £8,000. Pink Mist was published in 2013 by Faber & Faber, and was originally commissioned for BBC Radio 4’s More than Words listening festival in Bristol in 2012. It draws upon interviews with soldiers and their families, as well as texts such as the medieval Welsh poem Y Gododdin.
