ANALOGY OF BEAUTY

entry picture

ANALOGY OF BEAUTY.

Beauty like yours is as precious and rare

as a Red Middlemist Camellia;

always in bloom but not seen ev'rywhere,

like the sun that sets to re-appear.

You’re a glowing gem of Alexandrite;

Still as beautiful with every change

In mood, expressions, beliefs, shape or height;

Like a mystery, unresolved and strange.

But your beauty out lives distance and time

With every beat of your human clock;

Nightingales will sing and church bells will chime

From beauty within your soul I unlock.

COMMENTARY:

  1. Red Middlemist Camellia =  The world’s rarest flower,  thought to be only two in existence in London and New Zealand.  The flower originated from China in 1804.

  1. Alexandrite =  a rare gemstone that is notably beautiful, mysterious and strange due to its colour changing appearance as you rotate it at different angles ( as it refracts and reflects light ).

Absolutely superb work Phillip.
The last stanza is so complimentary and ties the other two to perfection. (Thank you for the commentary as well).
Love it.
