Once You See Light

In response to Of What Use Is Poetry? by Amiri Baraka The question is meant to probe into how we carry weight through life, how we work through thickness talk through touching. I see what I see because of a prescription in my eyes. You see what you see separate and esoteric. Poetry is how eyes meet. Rhythm of hearts is full of impressions made on senses and ocean-deep unconsciousness. If eyes never meet how is love made? If our love never connects how can we see our own reflection? Words alone cannot convey what there is to be said about longing beauty God. A poem is more than words. It is also music, images that wiggle until they are naked enough to dance. Of what use is that? Language is in our body but of our soul it is a journey toward self toward another in pursuit of creation. Tongues tell time and reveal what has not been told.
