Reading the statement 
that you have just made,
in which there’s
nothing but nought,
you’re “unaware of the details 
the committee outlined,
and have yet to read its report.”

Moving-on, looking forward,
the time has now come,
for challenges
of a personal sort,
my time will surely
be put to test- 
and a career 
put to its sword

There is time for 
a memoir and 
column to write,
time for TV 
-as a guest-
there’s time for coupled 
walks on the beach,
towards the sun 
as it sinks in the west.
