DGPS and the South Bank Show

entry picture

There's a special Dead Good Poet's Society open mic night at the Everyman Theatre, Hope Street Liverpool on Wednesday. It's being compered by Write Out Loud's own Paul Blackburn (pictured being touched by the hand of God) but there will also be a film crew from the South Bank Show. They'll be recording film excerpts for inclusion in a programme, to be broadcast in October, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Penguin poetry classic "The Mersey Sound" that included work by Adrian Henri, Roger McGough and Brian Pattern which is still in print and has sold more than half a million copies.

Dead Good Poet's have chosen the poets to appear during the first set (including WOL's Nat Clare) but there may still be open mic places available on the night for the second and third sets.
