Loose Muse, the women-only London open mic night that has already spread its wings and set up in Manchester as well, is branching out again – in Cornwall. Founder Agnes Meadows will be taking the long-distance coach to Penzance to join fellow hosts Angela Stoner, pictured, and Fiona Read, in kicking off Loose Muse on Friday 21 February at the Acorn, Parade Street, starting at 7 for 7.30pm. Agnes said: “Any woman writer who attends that event can also submit to be included in the next Loose Muse anthology.  Deadline for submissions has now been put back to 7 March.” More details

I do not like women only or men only readings
it tend to be loop-sided and self regarding when
only one sex get to the mike
