Award-winning poet Alice Oswald will be reading at Manchester’s Poets and Players at John Rylands library, Deansgate, on Saturday 8 February, at 2.30pm. Last year Oswald won the Warwick prize for writing and the Poetry Society’s Corneliu M Popescu prize for poetry in translation for Memorial, her version of Homer’s Iliad. Also on the bill are musician-performer Chris Davies, who is interested in music as a means of promoting a sense of well-being, and Beth Allen, creative voice specialist and Sacred Sounds choir director for John Tavener at Manchester International Festival. The event is free. More details and map
