THE SPIDER AND THE CHIP

THE SPIDER & THE CHIP

A spider crawled across my floor,
Until it came upon my door.
It looked at me and gave a knock,
And gestured up towards the lock.

So as I arose,
And upon my feet,
With a cheeky grin,
Our eyes they did meet.

Approaching the door,
He seemed to ignore,
My warm reply
And questioning eye.

As I reached for the handle,
With a tip of my hat,
He turned and ran,
To where I was sat.

He climbed the settee,
And reached for my plate.
He then pinched a chip,
And merrily he ate.

When he was done
He looked at me,
With a smile and a nod
And a wink.

He scuttled across
And under the door,
And disappeared
Under the sink.
