The A-Z of poetry: Write Out Loud unveils new listing service

Write Out Loud has rolled out its Poetry Directory, a brand-new listing service that complements our famous Gig Guide. It’s already packed with publications, festivals, competitions and other poetry resources.

The man in charge is David Andrew, who also edits the Gig Guide. David said:  “I’d like to thank those who replied to our recent mailing [to all those registered with WOL] seeking comment. The response was overwhelmingly positive.

“Since the original mailing we have improved the directory in two ways. We've added a sort facility. You can sort on either entry title (A-Z or Z-A) or on the date last updated (earliest or most recent first). Responding to comments about readability, we've made the list of categories easier to view.

“If you've not already seen the directory, we are still very much open to suggestions for improvement, at directory@writeoutloud.net. For instance, you'll see we've listed nearly 60 print magazines. We'd like to add those published online. If you run one, or have a favourite, let us have the magazine's name and a link; if you run the magazine, please send in a description of what you do.”

David added: “All these services are run by our small team of volunteers. We are always looking to make 'small' larger. Please let David know if you'd like to know more, or think you can help out.”
