August is the cruellest month, to misquote The Waste Land. Our Gig Guide editor has recently contacted all the owners of gigs listed with us over the next month. From replies we've had, it's clear that many repeating events are not held during August. Organisers find numbers drop off as visitors are having a break. And it could be the organisers themselves could do with one. So here's a reminder that it would be a good idea, if you are planning to go to a regular event in the coming month to check with the organiser that it is being held. And gig owners, please make sure you mark your events as cancelled, or if in doubt, contact David Andrew at gig@writeoutloud.net.
