Money's Killing Everything We Owned

Money’s Killing Everything We Owned

I simply cannot do it

I simply cannot bring myself

To place my faith in rocket ships

Racing to space to bring upon

The Earth the resources we’ve squandered,

Laundering the bounty of objects

While we cannot feed our own,

     I simply cannot believe

We’re marketing the universe

While there’s a universe of hurt

Upon this Earth,-

     Children going hungry

And pleading for their lives

As tribes as old as stars

Are struggling to survive,

And thriving in the West

Be a gluttony of fat cats

With fat bellies boasting

Fat wallets with plentiful

And none of it for sharing

For all despairing peoples

And it’s become the truth to

Say – death is cheap

And life be so expensive,

But in truth the opposite is true.

For they keep the masses on

A shoestring while formulating

Plans to eradicate their undesirables –

Maybe anyone who costs a buck to feed

Who doesn’t sit within the brackets

Of power and opulence and greed

And believe me if they could

Live without rubbing shoulders with

The poorest they’d make it so

Target each and everyone disabled

Remove them from the tables

Where food’s become a luxury

For those that can afford,

     And there’s little care left

For what’s bereft and gone and

Slaughtered as everyone’s creaming in

Shouting for a meltdown

A takedown a putdown

And yes there’s still people

Here within Britannia sharing

Clothes as hand me downs

That beggar clowns beliefs,

And we’re grief stricken

As briefs who sit in courts

Sentence dysfunctional youngsters

Who have no hope of glory

Except dying for a cause

That’s lost its way with human rights

As human wrongs keep

Persisting we know it all

We’ve had it all

We’ve robbed it all

Wasted all

Tarnished the little left

And,

     I have stopped believing

As many have upon the Gods

As dogs eat dogs

Cats eat cats and humans,

Eat everything and soon

Have upon their own

And where is home if not here,

Where can man and woman lay

Their weary heads and where

Upon this world is it safe

To bring your children?

     I don’t know,

For I have stopped believing

That humans have the will

To carry on sincerely

When each have to snide

To gain a place of fortitude

While many live in servitude,

And there’s just no escape,

No escape to freedom

While the contracts

Map the stars – impoverished

Will never reach,

     It’s being taken away

Before we’ve even

Had chance to peak,

And ours is not the future

To see unless you have

A million holed up and hold up,

It’s all going too fast,

Before long we’ll miss

This brevity of world,

We’ll miss what it was

To live amongst Natures Glory

And how can we ever justify

Going – other worlds

When we’ve robbed this place

Of everything she had,

Earth’s been left to rot,

Earth’s been left – a planet we forgot,

Earth’s been left to die

Like the dwindling of the poles

Where the cries of hungered Polar bears

Are added to the list of animals we’ve bled,

My guess is

While murder of everything that lives

Is commonplace amidst the tyranny of humans,

We’re not destined for the stars,

Not unless,

We can manage what is left,

Give the world back to Mother Nature

And let The Earth heal

From what’s become an onslaught

For the sake of Money

For that is what it is,

That’s what’s driving all

The animals extinct,

Money,

Is

Killing

Everything

We

Owned.
