Swap High Heels For Boots At Poetry Cafe

entry picture

Poets are supporting the Touching Tiny Lives campaign at the Poetry Cafe, Covent Garden on Saturday June 16th.

City girl, Christine Bennett, is to swap London for the high altitude Peru Inca Trail. She will fulfill a
lifelong dream of visiting Machu Picchu , whilst raising money for Action Medical Research¹s Touching Tiny Lives Campaign to help premature, sick and vulnerable babies.

As a premature baby herself, she wanted to give something back and benefit others.  AMR have played a crucial role in developing the polio vaccine, hip replacement, incubators for babies and ultrasound scanning in pregnancy.

Christine will trek the 33km trail over 4 days, climbing to 14,000 ft and camping out overnight; something not many black women do!

To take part in this exciting event, Christine has to raise £3,000 by August and so far she has raised nearly £1,000.

Journey Central Comedy Night at Poetry Café invites you to support Christine in raising funds, and have an entertaining evening of comedy and laughs. Proceeds from the evening will be given to this worthwhile cause.

If you are unable to make this wonderful fun packed evening you can still contribute online at:
