PROTECT

entry picture

I just want to protect you,

hold you,

sheild you from the storm,

remind you,

there will be another day.

Caress your weary head,

dry your tears,

place your head on my pillow,

regardless of the years.

Build your strength,

brick by brick,

take you on a journey,

starting with holding your hand.

Heal your wounds with bubble gum,

remind you of all the fun,

walk you slowly,

up the mountain path,

reach out to the sky

and God above.

When my job is complete,

I'll set you free,

to fly like a seagull,

satisfy the crowd,

with your gift,

you won't need me.

But,

I will hope,

you'll always know,

in your heart,

if your walls should crumble again,

to return,

we'll start all over again,

one fairy step at a time,

to a path unknown,

captured within our time. x
