entry picture

One of the earliest members of Write Out Loud who has become a top performance poet is returning to his roots on Sunday, 28 April. Tony Walsh, aka Longfella, will be the guest poet at Write Out Loud Middleton, at the Ring O’Bells pub, in St Leonard’s Square, Middleton. Tony, whose debut collection, Sex & Love & Rock&Roll is out now from Burning Eye, pays tribute to Write Out Loud on his website, saying: “Write Out Loud is a fantastic site for poets in the UK and beyond. Their poetry gig guide is second to none … I was one of the first handful of members of WOL … I've had tons of support from them and I'll be eternally grateful to these guys.”

Tony has performed at the British Library, Glastonbury festival, and from schools, universities, prisons, conferences, festivals, museums and theatres to the Palace of Science and Culture in Warsaw, and is a multiple winner and finalist in top poetry slam competitions. Write Out Loud Middleton is an open mic event, starting at 7pm. Entry is a £2 donation. More details and Map
