NOSTALGIA

I AM REMEMBERING WHEN

YOU AND I SPENT MANY SUMMER NIGHTS

JUST LOOKING OUT TO SEA

LIT BY MOONLIGHT,

SURROUNDED BY A THOUSAND STARS

WATCHING SHIPS DANCING ON THE WAVES

CAMP FIRES LIT ALONG THE SHORE

THE SOUND OF MUSIC

PEOPLE SINGING , CHILDREN PLAYING

THE SMELL OF COOKING FLOATING

ON A SUMMER BREEZE,

TALKING LATE INTO THE NIGHT

SOMETIMES TILL THE MORNING LIGHT

AND NOW I SIT HERE ALL ALONE

REMEMBERING WHEN WE LOOKED OUT TO SEA

THOSE SUMMER NIGHTS

JUST YOU AND ME

LIT BY MOONLIGHT,AND NOW BY ONE MORE STAR

NOW I KNOW JUST WERE YOU ARE

LOOKING DOWN FROM UP ABOVE

LIGHTING UP THE ONE YOU LOVE

NOW I'M SITTING HERE ALONE

LATE INTO THE NIGHT

MAYBE TILL THE MORNING LIGHT

DREAMING OF THE TIMES WE HAD

A LITTLE BLUE , A LITTLE SAD

I like the line about ships dancing on waves. This poem is both happy and sad. I like the way you make reference to one more star in the sky. This is romantic and shows your deep sense of love. It's nice that you mention happy memories too. I once wrote a similar poem about my mum which made me both smile and cry.
