Bucket Of Memories

Bucket Of Memories

There's a bucket of memories

lodged in-between a neck rest cushion,

and an old pair of sandals,

in the boot of my car,

redundant from Prestatyn,

september 2012

She'd held it as if diamonds,

not sand,

were its bounty.

I held her the same way,

tightly against the biting,

barren breeze

watching lovers,

red-faced,

scurry past,

mouse-like,

in search of shelter

I like the use of mundane inanimate objects alongside powerful emotions. Nice one John

Lovely snap shot John. Is this about a child? I get the warmth of protectiveness in all that icy wind. x

Lovely. Poignant, tender, very evocative - could feel that icy wind against my own face.
