Writing on the Wall (WoW) Festival

entry picture

After its success last year, WOW again presents Pulp Idol, where unpublished writers get the chance to pitch their work to a panel of judges (writers, agents and publishers) to compete for the chance to meet up with a top publisher, and maybe see their work in print.  This year our special guest is Dan Franklin, from legendary publishers, Random House.  Prizes on offer include places on a residential writing course at Ty Newydd, the National Writers' Centre for Wales, and copies of The Writers Workbook.

The heats will take place on Tuesday 15th, Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th May, in Hemingways Cafe,

52 Duke Street
, Liverpool, L1 5AA, from 5pm until 7pm

The final will take place on Friday 18th May, in Hemingways Cafe, 5pm until 7pm.

Rules:
• Your work must be part of a novel, that you are either working on, or have completed, with at least three chapters written.
• You must present three copies of the chapter you will be reading from for WOW to distribute to the judges at least one week before the festival.
• You have not had a novel published before.
• Each applicant will take part in a heat where you will be given three minutes to read your work to a panel of three judges and answer questions.
• The winners of each heat will go forward to the final.
• The decision of the judges will be final, and there are no alternatives to the prizes on offer.

Application forms can be downloaded from our website: www.writingonthewall.org.uk or, if you would like a copy sent to your postal address please telephone 0151 707 4313.
