Four poets and a pasty at Chorlton Irish Club

entry picture

Poet and BBC broadcaster Ian McMillan - recently seen introducing the TS Eliot prize poets at the Royal Festival Hall – will be hosting Four Poets and a Pasty at Chorlton Irish Club, Manchester on Friday 15 February. On the Vox Local bill are Mike Garry, Mark Mace Smith and Marvin Cheeseman. As well as the four poets, there will be a delicious pasty supper served in the lounge bar. And after the poetry, a dance floor will be created and some top tunes played for those who want to make a full night of it. The bar will be open from 7pm until 1am, but closed during each performance on stage. Tickets for Vox Local are £15 via  boplocal.com or from Chris O'Connor at Chorlton Irish Club: 17 High Lane, Manchester, M21 9DJ 0161 881 2898

Cartoon supplied by the promoters, Julian. It's brilliant, isn't it?

Where did you get that cartoon? Brilliant way to get a dig at the communities secretary's lack of appreciation of poetry.
