Accrington Victoria Hospital
The Accy Vic is on fire,
Treating wounds both moderate and dire.
You will never forget its name,
When you experience the warmth of its healing flame.
A stream of injuries pass through the front door,
A man with a cut hand from which the blood does pour.
A young lady by my side has fallen down stairs,
Two patients are there with ligament tears.
A lady shows me her inflammed dog bite,
Bestowed upon her when breaking up a fight.
Another lady has sprained her wrists,
We are all soo grateful that Accy Vic exists.
Wounded children walk away pain free,
My name is called out,a nurse I will see.
The staff are fantastic, compassionate and caring,
And listen intently as our woes we are sharing.
Psychological reassurance of the highest degree,
An accurate diagnosis by the nurse Anne Marie.
I was given an X ray on my second visit there,
Confirming no bones broken when I fell off my chair.
The banter and chat in the waiting room,
Passes the time and relaxes the gloom.
A stream of injuries still pass through the front door,
Accy Vic is outstanding treating patients galore.
