Marina Lewycka Comes To Leigh

Author Marina Lewycka will be at the Turnpike Centre, Leigh at 2pm on Friday 20th of April as part of the Wigan and Leigh Literary Festival- full details in the gig guide on this site.

Marina Lewycka is of Ukrainian origin and was born in a refugee camp in Kiel, Germany, during World War II. She studied at Keele University, and lectures in media studies at Sheffield Hallam University.

Her first novel, The Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian won the 2005 Saga Award for Wit, the 2005 Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize, and was shortlisted for the 2005 Orange Prize for Fiction.

Marina's second novel, Two Caravans, was published on the 29th March
