There’s still time to enter the Magma poetry competition; the deadline is 16 December.  There are two prizes. The judge’s prize for a poem of 11-80 lines will be awarded by the national poet of Wales, Gillian Clarke. The Magma editors’ prize is for a poem of up to 10 lines, and will by judged by a panel of  Laurie Smith, Julia Bird, Roberta James, Rob Mackenzie, and Karen McCarthy Woolf.  Both prizes mean £500 for the winner.  Fifteen winning poets  will have their poems published in Magma’s spring issue of 2013,  and be invited to read with Gillian Clarke at Magma’s prizegiving event early next year.
