She said "I am a Vessel"

She said "I am a vessel for a love with no borders

Unanimity of patience and reasonable tolerance

No subversion shall coerce my action

No coercion will subvert my thought"

I stood in awe of the brazen dissentient

And so I withdrew my tacit consent

For none over another is deserving commandant

And my being was roused by such bold sentiment

She said "to speak of freedom in the discourse of this system

Is to speak of the freedom to conform and contort

My patience and tolerance find their reasonable ending

At disingenuous constructs for the confinement of thought"

For a while I was silent

Contemplating my own mind

Until my own mind through reason

Compelled me to demand

"We have not disappeared

You mutilators of nature

We, believers of liberty

Innate in the man"
