Throwing a love-epee

Take that!

As I pass then parry with haste

You may be much bigger

but your size is a waste.

Take that and twice more

As I parry with plume

You’ll never defeat me

you say with a boom.

And back you swine!

I assert with a lunge

And back, and back,

away you vile gunge.

Mal-parry and I wince

His line it fell true

Redoublement be damned

I had the best of you.

I press and reprise

My fight is anew

I feinte, you fleche

my riposte naught to you.

You thrust and I fall

feint heart wins again

The measure too much

This love fought in vein

◄ We’d drink

I didn't know it was possible to post without a profile - that's a new one on me.

It feels like there is a bit of forced rhyme in here that the poem would be better without though - unless it's all tongue in cheek - in which case it doesn't really matter :) I like the play on words and the ideas.

Yep - it's a really good title - humorous.
