After the jam, it's Write Out Loud at Marsden tonight

entry picture

This Wednesday, 17 October, sees the latest instalment in the story of poetry advancement in Marsden as we meet at the Mechanics Institute for another Write Out Loud poetry read-around. Be there for 7.30 at the library at Marsden Mechanics Institute armed with a poem or three. £2.

Coming hot on the heels of the best Marsden poetry jazz jam so far, it will either be buzzing in the afterglow of some of the most stunning poetry read by a diverse crew – age 6 to sixt... er 80 – to a capacity crowd; or it will be hungoverly reflective.

Anyone with a poem about the jam or the jazz festival particularly welcome, but anything and everything appreciated, just write summat and share it with us.

What a fantastic poetry jam it was. We just didn’t want it to stop! Thank you to all who took part and made it such an incredible success.

Write Out Loud’s news editor, Greg Freeman, journeyed all the way from the deep South to join us, read to us, acted as roadie for the sound equipment and went home and wrote this review.

A special thank you for your support to Kirklees Libraries Reader Development Team, especially Diane Green, and to Taru Sinclair of the Marsden Jazz Festival.
