entry picture

Steph Pike and Steven Waling are July’s guests at Once More With Meaning, Bury’s singular open mic night. The event takes place at a large performance space at the Met theatre, accessible on Sunday 1 July via The Automatic restaurant. Open micers should bring two poems - and there's a prize for the best one. Steph Pike is a performance poet and activist. Her first collection of poetry Full of the Deep Bits was published in 2010. She is the Sheffield Grand Dame of Slam 2011 and runs a poetry night in Manchester called Word Up. Experimental poet Steven Waling is excited by words and languages and keeps finding them all over the place. His collections, Travelator and Captured Yes are published by Salt Publishing and Knives, Forks and Spoons Press. Entry: £2. Start: 7.30pm. More details and Map
